4th May, 2008. 9:15 pm. I wanna know who gains...

Hi.

We all know rising food prices and inflation harms the low-income dudes and dudess the most.

I know food, oil and all-that-jazz prices will continue to escalate.

I know Singapore cannot be spared from the impact because we live in a connected global world.

What i want to know is who the hell gains?  We all know who the biggest losers are...  So can we please have some perspective on who the biggest winners are?

Put some spot light on these dudes, and perhaps, they'll do their bid in helping...  Keep quiet about it and perhaps they'll just continue to wreck havoc in the free market.

I once read somewhere that Osama was the old school terrorist.

New-school terrorists are perhaps even more frightening.

Cheerios.

Current mood: annoyed.

1.  Someone actually returned the uncle my thumb drive.  My faith in humanity is restored.  Thank you to whoever who returned, and thanks computer uncle for keeping it safe!

2.  My Geography term paper returned with a B...  I could not be more devastated.  What's worse is that his comments could not be more true.  Need to burst my comfort bubble and improve on my writing style and organisation.

3.  The 7pm show (阿旺新传) on Channel 8 is quite a nice show to watch to unwind after a day.

Cheerios.

3rd April, 2008. 10:08 pm. Can you imagine this conversation...

Not that it has happened yet, but i think it'll make an excellent script:

*in the board room*

Transport Dude (TD): Wah lao, fine lesser lah...  Damn siong you know, the $300k fine...

Slap-fine Dude (SD): Cannot help it lah...  You never hear what the public saying meh?  Complain you all raise prices, having more irregular services, squeeze them like sardins, blah blah blah...  You know all those plebians lah, especially those virtual bloggers!

TD:  Wah biang...  Tell you what, since last time I go school together with your boss one right, ask him to postpone payment lah, or better, interest free instalment!  Let's make it, like, 100 a month?  Bleeding like siao already can...

*SD calls boss*

*After 30 seconds*

SD:  *ahem*  He know your stoopid aunty pattern and told you not to be so gu niang and just cough out the money...

TD:  Ta ma de...  You know how many country club subscriptions i have to sell just to make back the money or not... Cannot raise fares for the next few years some more...

SD:  Chill lah, my boss totally understand.  Now he knows you got to LLST lah, but after 3 years, you raise the fees by, eh, *air quotes* "reasonable amount as fees were last raised in 2007, and now due to rising costs, we have no choice but to pass part of the increase to the commuters" *air quotes*

TD:  Ya lor, my Beemer confirm will be more expensive in 2011 de lor...  Bloody rising costs, if only things can be cheaper.

SD:  Can can...  You absorb "rising costs" for 3 year, then its only fair that after that the commuters have to pay in order to make sure the transport system stays "efficient mah"!  *Laughs*

TD: *Laughs louder in a really hysterical asthmatic manner*

*After what seemed like an eternity for SD*

TD:  *seriously* Really no discount arh?

SD:  *mumbles* Blood sucking aunties...

I should totally be a scriptwriter.

Cheerios!

Current mood: amused.

12th March, 2008. 10:13 pm. To combat inflation, let us...

Stop spending ->  low demand ->  push down demand curve ->  Price will drop as demand drops -> EUREKA!

Not only do we stop inflation, i think we'll stop the economy going too, thus reducing us to, erm, a non-capitalistic society driven by demand?

Haha, is this even possible?

Current mood: amused.

14th February, 2008. 1:55 pm. Hong Kong Sushi

Just a few points to take note (more for myself, actually):

1.  Yan Hui is going HK for internship for 3 months!  How uberlisiously cool!

2.  Giant sells price-marked-down sushi after certain time too.  So 百佳!

3.  I want to collect photos from Suqin and Yong Sheng soon.

4.  Must meet up with a lot of people soon lest they start grumbling.

5.  I've gone to the zoo, you should go too!

6.  Try to get cool internships like Yan Hui too so i can legitimately go Hong Kong to enjoy while working at the same time!  Yan Hui, teach me how!

Cheerios!

Current mood: impressed.
